Isaac Stone  was to have been our conductor for 2022, and he wrote these notes on the intended programme “TOUR OF EUROPE FROM TEAPOT”:

“We may be unable to see the world right now, but you can experience the sounds of the north at Teapot Summer School. 2022’s repertoire celebrates the many colours of European languages, with uplifting settings of beautiful poetry.

The big and bold Polovtsian Dances by Borodin and the patriotism of the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves by Verdi are balanced with the pensive Blue Bird by Stanford, the yearning of Brahm’s Der Gang Zum Liebchen and the wistful Dirait-on by Lauridsen.

The centrepiece will be the show-stopping Mass In Blue by English composer Will Todd, which seamlessly mixes the jazz and classical idioms in a setting that is at once heartfelt and explosive.”
