Isaac Stone

Isaac Stone is a choral director, music educator and singer based in Wellington, New Zealand.

He teaches classroom music, brass instruments and leads the choral programme at Tawa College, including conducting the Tawa College Blue Notes chamber choir, which has qualified for the Big Sing National Finale every year since 2014 and most recently received a Gold award.

He completed his BMus in Classical Singing under the tutelage of Emily Mair and Flora Edwards, and developed ensemble singing skills through his membership of the New Zealand Secondary Students’ Choir, New Zealand Youth Choir, and now Voices New Zealand.

Isaac founded and conducts the innovative 60-strong Wellington choir Supertonic, which is known for the finesse of its singing in both classical and contemporary styles – in 2021 they presented an Elton John rock concert at the Botanical Gardens, Faure’s Requiem at Wellington Cathedral, and a jazz swing concert.

In 2020 he was made an Associate Conductor with Voices New Zealand Chamber Choir.
